Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of characters who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem out of place, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the team access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
