Close to 25,000 Lost Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Weather Systems
Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the area, producing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Homeowners reported large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams working to handle the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 emergency reports across the region, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

During the peak on yesterday, more than 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of eastern Queensland this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both areas.
Safety Concern
Medical authorities alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
