Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that defies traditional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the official release, "An unusual meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The storyline features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden cult.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an unique katana together with multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime series. The series earlier featured a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
